DOORS OPEN: 6:45pm as entry and as floorspace for own dancing practice
LESSON EACH WEEK: 7:15 - 8:00pm with Meryl and/or Joe
SOCIAL: Thursdays 8:00 - 10:30pm and Saturdays 8:00 - 11:00pm
LESSON ONLY COST: $5:00 (plus first three dances on the program)
LESSON & SOCIAL COST: $15:00 (lesson included but optional to attend)
DANCE PROGRAM: 30 brackets of Modern, Latin, New Vogue Championship and most popular New Vogue dances
SEATING: Table seating for eight and additional chairs available if requested.

OUR VENUE
What a beautiful space this community hall is! A spacious 24m x 15m dance floorspace (not including the tables) and its festive décor makes it truly much more a ballroom than a hall!
Community + ballroom is what Ballroom Dance Night is about. We, as individuals, have all chosen to dance for various reasons and yet, it's in this gorgeous ballroom, that together we dance, we learn, we laugh, and we share the experience of being a community. A community of dancers - having fun together - is what Kathleen and Geoff want Ballroom Dance Night to provide for anyone who attends. We warmly welcome you to join us.
DANCE NIGHT SPECIFIC DETAILS
Seating & Set Up...
Table seating is available for first takers but can be reserved if required. Reserve table seats here or through an email or phone/text message if you wish to secure a table with your friends.
Tables seat 8 comfortably but can seat up to 10 people.
Tea & coffee is supplied in the kitchen, which has hot water urn, water jugs and glasses, crockery & cutlery.
You're welcome to bring your own food and refreshments.
The Floor...
Once considered a 'fast' floor, but its refurbishment and resurfacing has made it a great floor to dance on.
Shoe cleaning, wax & wet-cloth stations are still available for everyone's use if you so wish.
Specific dance wax is swept over the dance floor only if it's needed.
No powder or other substances are to be spread by attendees anywhere on the dance floor.
Payment...
$5 per night (lesson only + first three dances of the program)
$15 per night (lesson & social) cash or eftpos.
$4 per night (lesson only + first three dances of the program) by using Dance Miles Lessons Card
$13 per night (lesson & social) by using Dance Miles Card.

Cards are a pre-purchase.
Lessons-only card is $40 at a value of $50 and Lesson & Social card is $130 at a value of $150.
Valid for 10 entries within a 12-month period.
Couples use up a card by attending five times (two clips each time).
Cards must be presented to be validated and will be not marked off retrospectively.
Cards can be kept with reception for convenience if requested.
Cards may be transferred to a friend.
DANCE NIGHT TEACHERS
Having Meryl Thomas and Joe Deleo we are able to offer split group lessons at 7:15pm weekly on Saturdays and Thursdays according to the week (1st & 3rd for Thursdays and 2nd & 4th for Saturdays). Split groups cater for those of you who may already know the lesson dance, which enables Meryl to finesse your dancing, while those who are new to the dance or a tad 'rusty' will have the figures and technique fundamentals taught by Joe.
Both Meryl and Joe offer private lessons for individual/partnered or small groups (max 6 pp or by negotiation) for $75 ph and are ideal for those wanting personalised instruction on something specific. These privates are held just prior to the 7:15pm weekly class and can be 30, 45 or 60-mins in length. THE PROGRAM FORMAT
The 30 dance program is predominantly two pieces of music per dance but because Thursdays finishes, sometimes the last two dances are single pieces only. The program is deliberately designed to be reliable for attendees to know what dances they can expect. The permanent dances are listed below. Variety to the program will be brought through different pieces of music that have been individually timed and phrased to suit each dance. Our commitment is to provide music that evokes nostalgia and memories that generally enhances the connection to how we dance. Different music can sometimes be a challenge for those used to hearing the same music, but it can also be an inspiration to up-skill and learn more about dancing.
