LATEST NEWS
We had 100 people attend our Fairy Tale Ball on 30 November and thank you to everyone for making it so special. With most people in fancy or formal dress, your dancing looked even more spectacular as you made the dance floor look so vibrant and colourful. Please see our gallery page for images of the showcases presented on the night (videos not able to be uploaded 😞).

Our fortnightly ongoing lessons are taken by Meryl Thomas and will be predominantly to teach the figures and necessary techniques of how to lead and follow in two styles: Standard Ballroom being Modern Waltz, Quickstep, Slow Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese, and Latin being Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba and Jive. New Vogue lessons will be incidental to these and/or by request of attendees.
For anyone who's going for medals, entering into any level of competition or just wanting to practice what they've been taught or learning by themselves, we've opened up an open-floor personal practice time just prior to the lesson. See details in Overall Information below
OUR VENUE
What a beautiful space this community hall is! A spacious 24m x 15m dance floorspace (not including the tables) and its festive décor makes it truly much more a ballroom than a hall!
Community + ballroom is what Ballroom Dance Night is about. We, as individuals, have all chosen to dance for various reasons and yet, it's in this gorgeous ballroom, that together we dance, we learn, we laugh, and we share the experience of being a community. A community of dancers - having fun together - is what Kathleen and Geoff want Ballroom Dance Night to provide for anyone who attends. We warmly welcome you to join us.

THE PROGRAM FORMAT
The 30 dance program is static with the same dances but in a different order with two pieces of music per dance. The program is deliberately designed to be reliable for attendees knowing what dances they can expect. The permanent dances are listed below. Variety to the program is brought through different pieces of music that have been individually timed and phrased to four routines for each dance. Our commitment is to provide a harmonious blend of traditional and modern music that is often nostalgic or memorable, which generally enhance the connection to how we dance. Different music can sometimes be a challenge for those who are used to hearing the same music, but it can also be an inspiration to up-skill and learn more about dancing.
